Über mich
Toni J. Krein ist Dramaturg und Kulturvermittler mit langjähriger Erfahrung im Bereich Konzert- und Musiktheater. Er war von 1979 bis Ende 1986 künstlerischer Betriebsdirektor der Alten Oper Frankfurt. Sodann leitender Dramaturg am Luzerner Theater von 1987 bis 1991. Danach hat er für den Komponisten Hans Werner Henze gearbeitet und war von 1995 bis 1998 Leiter des Künstlerischen Büros der Internationalen Musikfestwochen Luzern (heute Lucerne Festival). Anschliessend war er Geschäftsführer und künstlerischer Co-Leiter des Europäischen Musikmonats 2001 in Basel und wirkte von 2002 bis Ende 2011 als Leiter des Kultursponsorings der Credit Suisse. Von 2006 bis 2013 unterrichtete er überdies das Modul Kultursponsoring und Fundraising beim EMAA Studiengang der Universität Zürich. Seit Dezember 2010 ist er Präsident des Verbandes Schweizerischer Berufsorchester – orchester.ch. Ausserdem engagiert er sich im Vorstand verschiedener Kulturinstitutionen wie dem Zürcher Kammerorchester ZKO, dem Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus und in der Stiftung Musikhotel Braunwald. Seit 2023 gehört er ausserdem dem Vorstand des Helen Dahm Museums an.
Von 2012 bis 2020 war er Vizepräsident der Stiftung DAVOS FESTIVAL young artists in concert, sowie ebenfalls seit 2012 Mitglied des Stiftungsrates und des „International Committee“ der Tongyeong International Music Foundation TIMF, Korea bis 2022.

About me
Toni J. Krein has been President of the Association of Swiss Professional Orchestras – orchester.ch since December 2010. Among other functions Krein was Artistic Administrator of the Alte Oper Frankfurt between 1979 and 1986, Senior Dramaturg of the Lucerne Theatre from 1987 until 1991. He worked for the composer Hans Werner Henze and was Artistic Administrator of the Lucerne Festival from 1995 until 1998 and Co-CEO and Artistic Director of the „European Month of Music Basel 2001“. From 2002 until 2011 he was Head Corporate Cultural Sponsorship of Credit Suisse. Krein lectured on arts and economics for EMAA at the University Zurich from 2006 until 2013. He also sits on the board of various cultural institutions such as the Zurich Chamber Orchestra ZKO, the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival and the Foundation Musikhotel Braunwald. Since 2023, he also serves on the board of the Helen Dahm Museum.
From 2012 to 2020 he was Vice-President of the DAVOS FESTIVAL young artists in concert Foundation, and also since 2012 a member of the Board of the Foundation as well as the „International Committee“ of the Tongyeong International Music Foundation TIMF, Korea until 2022
